Taking over Jackson Street and Michigan Avenue in the heart of the city, the Gus Macker #JacksonMI festival is a can't miss tournament during your summer basketball tour. The event is nestled in the city core, surrounded by restaurants, retail destinations, parks, and entertainment options to keep families engaged from the blacktop gameplay to eats and entertainment. Memorable activities from the Mascot Game and Heroes Tournament to the $1.5k Dunk Contest and Cornhole Tournament add to the vibrant atmosphere, making it a one-of-a-kind experience in Southcentral Michigan.
All profits from the event are redirected to the volunteer groups that support the event and non-profits across Jackson County, as nearly $25,000 have been donated back to the community since we tipped off in Jackson in 2018.
Volunteerism
Gus Macker #JacksonMI weekend will bring over 1,000 athletes and 10,000+ fans to town to experience a weekend of basketball in the city. There are many moving pieces to put this event on, from setup to breakdown, requiring over 180 volunteers throughout the weekend.
