“25 Years” On The Beach
This year marks the 25th anniversary for the Ludington Gus Macker 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Gus Macker will live large at the beach in Ludington and Stearns Park for the 25th year as 900 teams takes to Stearns Outer Drive and Lakeshore Drive for some 3-on-3 basketball June 18-19.
Take the U.S. 10 exit west until it dead ends at the beach (put 200 North Lakeshore Drive in your app.). That’s where setting screens for a teammate meets sunsets and sun screen, and thousands come just to watch and enjoy sun, sand, surf and, well, slam dunks. All of the courts are either on the beach or within one block.
Enter now. The field is limited to the first 900 teams in what has always been one of Macker’s most popular stops. Great weather is expected and this charming, colorful beach community offers Macker maniacs walking distance options like the Ludington North Breakwater Light, unique shopping, great dining spots and sunsets that rival any in the world.
Visit www.PureLudington.com for a listing of accommodations.
Macker kicks summer into full motion in this town and it is a summer tradition. Get with the tradition. Make Ludington one of your Macker stops. It’s where the boys are – and the girls, too. Shades and sunscreen recommended.
